Russian Pobeda Airlines is set to begin regular flights connecting Moscow with Tashkent, Uzbekistan, starting April 3, as reported by Uzbekistan Airports. Tickets originating from Moscow are priced starting at $54, whereas fares from Tashkent will begin at $160. Notably, the pricing for flights from Moscow to Tashkent is set to be nearly 3-fold less, than the cost for the return journey.
The service on this route will be facilitated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, known for their reliability and comfort, ensuring a pleasant journey for passengers traveling between these two destinations. Pobeda Airlines will offer three distinct fare categories to passengers: basic, favorable, and maximum, catering to a range of preferences and budgets.
Following discussions between aviation authorities in Uzbekistan and Russia, an agreement was reached to substantially increase the number of flights between the two countries. Data from the Russian Ministry of Transport indicates an expected rise in flight operations, with the Tashkent - Moscow - Tashkent route alone experiencing an increase from 39 to 50 flights per week.
In a move to boost tourism, Tashkent and Moscow entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation in the tourism sector in November 2023. This agreement outlines several key objectives, including the ambition to increase the tourist exchange to 1 mn individuals in both directions. Additionally, it encompasses the organization of cultural and tourist festivals, along with the promotion of national tourist routes and destinations through media coverage.
