During a working visit to China, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev, led a delegation to acquaint themselves with the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported on March 25.
The Kazakh delegation, headed by Minister Marat Karabaev, embarked on a tour of various transport infrastructure facilities in the city of Urumqi. This included visits to prominent locations such as the International Dry Port, Express Delivery Center (Jitu Express), China-Europe Railway Express Hub, and the office of Xinjiang Trade and Logistics Corporation.
A significant highlight of the visit was Minister Karabaev's participation in the ceremony marking the departure of the 150th container train named "Tianshan" along the "PRC-EU" route. This milestone underscores the growing importance of railway connectivity between China and Europe, facilitated by initiatives like the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, which was launched in 2013.
Throughout the visit to various transport infrastructure facilities, discussions were held, and agreements were reached on plans for organizing joint investment projects aimed at enhancing and bolstering the logistics infrastructure.
