Uzbekistan boosts tech sector through expanded collaboration with Dell Technologies

A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan recently concluded a visit to the United States, aiming to bolster ties with leading technology companies, IT Park reported. Led by Minister Sherzod Shermatov and accompanied by IT Park CEO Farkhod Ibragimov, the delegation engaged in discussions with prominent industry figures, including Vice President of Global Public Policy of Dell Technologies, Daniel Green, and GovSmart CEO Brent Lillard.

The primary focus of the meetings was to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation and attracting foreign investment to Uzbekistan's burgeoning tech sector. A key agenda item was the creation of high-income job opportunities for Uzbek youth through the provision of remote services to the U.S. market. Central to this initiative is the deployment of advanced computing systems with artificial intelligence capabilities, aligning with the evolving needs of Dell Technologies' programming systems.

Of particular importance was the consideration of establishing an official presence for Dell Technologies in Uzbekistan. This move is underpinned by the conducive environment being fostered at the International Center of Digital Technologies in Tashkent, which is geared towards attracting foreign IT companies.

Both sides deliberated on the potential benefits and challenges associated with this expansion of cooperation. Emphasis was placed on leveraging Uzbekistan's skilled workforce and favorable business environment to facilitate the seamless integration of Dell Technologies into the local market.

To formalize their commitment to collaboration, a letter of intent was signed between the Ministry of Digital Technologies and GovSmart, paving the way for future joint initiatives and projects aimed at advancing the technological landscape of Uzbekistan.

The outcome of these deliberations holds significant promise for both Uzbekistan and Dell Technologies, with the potential to drive innovation, create employment opportunities, and foster economic growth in the region. As Uzbekistan continues to position itself as a hub for tech investment and development, partnerships with industry leaders like Dell Technologies are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping its digital future.
