In a move towards technological advancement, the authorities of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan embarked on a collaborative journey to develop and establish technoparks. Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khodjaev, held discussions with Rustam Minnikhanov, the leader of Russia's autonomous republic of Tatarstan. The primary focus of their meeting was the development and creation of technoparks.
The two parties expressed their intentions to establish an industrial park within the Navoiy free economic zone and another in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan.
Plans are also underway to continue the joint development of the Chirchik and Jizzakh technoparks. Tatar experts are sharing their knowledge and expertise with their Uzbek counterparts to help unlock the potential of these sites.
Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan and Russia are exploring the implementation of 60 projects. These initiatives span various sectors, including industrial cooperation, raw materials, and medical services. The total projected cost of these ventures is estimated to be RUB 2.2 trillion ($22 bn).
Currently, almost 80 entities within the Russian Federation are in collaboration with Uzbekistan.
