Tashkent welcomes its first Zara store on February 22, along with other brands under the Inditex company, including Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Oysho, Bershka, and Stradivarius, as stated on the official website of Tashkent City Mall.
Inditex, a Spanish multinational clothing company, is the parent company of these brands. With origins dating back to the 1960s, Inditex has grown exponentially, boasting nearly 6,000 stores worldwide. The company’s multi-brand strategy allows it to cater to various market segments, thereby enhancing its global appeal.
Earlier, it was announced that the Yangiyul District of Tashkent Region is planning to commence the production of Zara and Columbia brands. This initiative was announced in a meeting between regional authorities and Yavuz Orkhan, the head of Mebex Textile, a leading Bulgarian furniture export company based in Plovdiv.
The manufacturing project will be implemented in two stages, with $25mn of direct foreign investment earmarked for its execution. This substantial investment is projected to create 500 jobs and generate an export value of $20-30mn.
