Prominent American journalist Tucker Carlson has announced his plans to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. The announcement was made via a video message on his X account, a social media platform owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
The Motivation Behind the Interview
Carlson stated that his decision to interview Putin was driven by a desire to inform Americans about the situation in Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that his motivation was not out of admiration for Putin, but rather out of love for the USA.
Financial Independence and Support
The journalist affirmed that he personally financed the trip and did not receive any support from the authorities. He also assured that he had the backing of Elon Musk, who promised not to block the interview or interfere with its distribution on the social network X.
In a move to promote transparency and accessibility, Carlson emphasized that the interview with the Russian president would be posted on his website for free access.

Kremlin’s Response
On February 5, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin had no information to report yet about Putin’s possible interview with foreign media. The last time Putin communicated with representatives of the Western press was in October 2021, when he gave an interview to the host of the American CNBC television channel, Hadley Gamble, after a meeting of the Russian Energy Week forum.
