Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, recently announced that a prominent Kazakh investor aims to invest $70mn into joint projects in Kyrgyzstan this year, 24.kg reported. The identity of the investor remains undisclosed.
In 2023, Kazakhstan’s capital investments in Kyrgyzstan’s economy amounted to $55mn. The total volume of Kazakhstan’s investments in the Kyrgyz Republic has surpassed $1.3bn, according to reports from the Kazinform news agency.
Trade Relations
Kazakhstan ranks as the third trading partner for Kyrgyzstan. With the backing of the heads of state, there are plans to boost bilateral trade to $2bn. The Kyrgyz Republic is one of the primary trading partners within the CIS and the EAEU for Kazakhstan.

During his visit to Bishkek, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan added that regional issues were discussed, with both parties sharing similar positions.
Following the negotiations, a cooperation program was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for 2024-2026.
