The duo explored significant cultural projects, including the reconstruction of the Mirzo Ulugbek observatory and the future "Great Silk Road" museum in Samarkand.
One of the highlights of Saida Mirziyoyeva and Irina Bokova's visit was their inspection of the reconstruction project for the Mirzo Ulugbek observatory. The former UNESCO Director General joined Saida Mirziyoyeva in reviewing the ambitious plans, emphasizing the creation of an inclusive environment with all amenities for visitors.
Great Silk Road Museum Project
They also delved into the presentation of the "Great Silk Road" museum project, a significant cultural initiative planned for construction in Samarkand in the near future. Saida Mirziyoyeva and Irina Bokova acquainted themselves with the details of the project during a presentation, discussing specific aspects and preparations for its implementation.
During their visit, Saida Mirziyoyeva and Irina Bokova were joined by Francesco Bandarin, the senior adviser on culture of the Aga Khan Foundation, and Borina Andryu, the managing director of Wilmotte & Associés architectural bureau.
