On January 18, provincial police reported the crash of a Falcon 10B aircraft with the registration RA-09011 in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, Afghanistan, Ariana News reported. Operated by Gazpromavia, the aircraft was travelling from Gaya, India, to Jukovsky, Moscow, with a scheduled refuelling stop in Tashkent, when it encountered an unfortunate incident, colliding with the mountainous terrain in the Topkhana area of Zebak district.

The aircraft disappeared from radar screens during its approach to Kulyab airport in Tajikistan. At approximately 19:05, the crew communicated an emergency regarding fuel shortage and their decision to land at Kulyab Aerodrome. Subsequently, the crew reported the failure of the first engine, followed by the second engine failure. The aircraft, carrying a total of eight individuals—four passengers and four crew members—encountered challenges leading to the crash.
