On December 29, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution to amend and supplement the list of activities permitted for residents of the Technological Park of Software Products and Information Technologies (IT PARK), as per IT Park's official website .
New services by IT Park residents
The introduced amendments now allow IT Park residents to provide services in multimedia and design, including web design, graphic design, computer game design, vector graphics, 3D graphics, visualization design, and motion design. They can also produce animation products using software, engage in venture financing of projects in the field of information technology, implement acceleration programs, and provide e-sports services.
Criteria for IT Park residency
To obtain the status of IT Park resident in accordance with the new types of activities, legal entities must meet specific criteria:
- For venture financing of projects in the field of information technology and implementation of acceleration programs, legal entities must be registered and located at the legal address on the territory of the IT Park or its branches.
- For the provision of services in the esports industry, legal entities must possess an international certificate according to the list approved by IT Park.
Anticipated impact of new activities
The introduction of new types of activities is anticipated to facilitate the expansion of services in the information technology sector. It is expected to foster the development of youth knowledge in multimedia, design, animation, esports, and assist in attracting funding and support for startups.
These initiatives are likely to enhance companies’ competitiveness and increase the export potential of IT services in the country. The primary objective of this direction is to increase the export volume to $5bn by the year 2030.
