In the first 10M 2023, Kyrgyzstan witnessed a significant surge in its gasoline exports. A total of 6.4 mn liters of gasoline were exported, amounting to 201.7mn soms, Akchabar reports. This volume marks a 12-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022.
Major export destinations
Uzbekistan: largest importer
Uzbekistan emerged as the largest importer of Kyrgyzstan’s gasoline, with 3.1 mn liters imported at a price of 37.2 soms ($0.42) per liter, totaling 116.5mn soms ($1.3mn). This aligns with the data from 2021, which shows that Uzbekistan was a significant importer of petroleum gas.
Georgia: key market
Georgia also figured prominently in Kyrgyzstan’s gasoline export landscape. The country imported 2.6 mn liters of gasoline at 22 soms ($0.25) per liter, amounting to 57.4mn soms ($644,326). This is consistent with the 7.2% increase in gasoline imports reported by Georgia in 2021.
Smaller deliveries: Afghanistan and Kazakhstan
In addition to the major importers, smaller deliveries were made to Afghanistan and Kazakhstan. Afghanistan imported 700,700 liters of gasoline at 39.6 soms ($0.44) per liter, totaling 27.8mn soms ($312,060). This is in line with Afghanistan’s $10.2mn ($114,397) petroleum gas imports in 2021.
Kazakhstan, on the other hand, imported gasoline at a price of 26.6 soms ($0.3) per liter. Despite being a significant exporter of petroleum gas, Kazakhstan imported a small quantity of gasoline from Kyrgyzstan in 2023.
