A regular meeting of the High-Level Group on Trade and Investment Support under the Intergovernmental Commission of Turkmenistan and Russia was held in Moscow, Russia, Turkmenistan Live reports.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Kerim Kurbanov. The Russian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach.
"The parties discussed the development of promising joint projects, conditions for improving mutual trade, cooperation in the sphere of industry and energy". The two countries are also discussing a partnership between the financial regulators and commercial banks.
Experts told Daryo that in recent years Turkmenistan has been actively cooperating with regions such as St Petersburg, Tatarstan and Astrakhan.
About 200 companies with Russian capital are registered in the local market. Leading partners include KAMAZ, Tatneft, Vozrozhdenie and Gazprom. A joint business forum is to be held in Ashgabat in January 2024.
