In a significant achievement for Uzbekistan’s higher education sector, three of the nation’s universities have been recognized in the prestigious QS Sustainability Rankings 2024. This global ranking evaluates universities’ commitment to achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, with a total of 1,397 institutions from 95 countries and territories being assessed.
These rankings are a testament to the universities’ dedication to sustainability and their role in promoting environmentally responsible practices. The University of Toronto leads the ranking, followed by the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Manchester completing the top three positions.
The United States boasts the highest number of participating institutions with 209 universities, while the United Kingdom and China follow with 93 and 90 universities respectively, reflecting a global commitment to sustainability in higher education.
