American firm hu.ma.ne unveiled AI Pin, a "smart" wearable gadget as reported by Wired. The brooch-sized device is made up of two parts: a 34-gram body and a 20-gram battery. It is secured to the chest with a magnet or a specific fastening.
The touchpad takes up the majority of the outside surface. Instead of a screen, AI Pin has a laser projector that displays the interface on the nearby surface, such as the palm. The gadget contains a 13-megapixel camera that can be mounted at an angle to the main body. It now just shoots images, but the developers intend to add video recording in the future.
AI Pin, in addition to the touchpad, enables voice instructions and gestures. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Cosmos OS, a modified version of the open version of Android. The gadget also has access to cutting-edge artificial intelligence models, such as those from OpenAI. The virtual assistant may only be activated manually in this situation, and its status is shown by a light indicator at the top of the touchpad.
With AI Pin, you may make calls, send AI-generated messages, take notes on letters in the mail, and translate speech in foreign languages. It can also play music, even over wireless headphones. The gadget can also be used to monitor the power supply. hu.ma.ne plans to add a navigation and the ability to make purchases to the gadget in the future.
AI Pin will be available on November 16 for $699. In addition, the user will have to pay $24 per month for a membership that includes a mobile tariff, a cloud for files, and neural networks.
