Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon presented multiple proposals during his address at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit.
He acknowledged the favorable global economic trends, highlighting the ECO's gross domestic product surpassing $2 trillion and continuing to expand. Despite this, he emphasized the untapped potential for economic cooperation among member nations.
To address this, he introduced various initiatives, aiming to enhance collaboration in different economic sectors, bolster the production of competitive goods, fortify regional transport connections, and advance a green economy utilizing renewable energy sources. Rahmon underscored the need to construct transport infrastructure in the ECO region and expressed Tajikistan's commitment to significantly contribute to its development in the East-West, Central Asia, and South Asia directions.
He proposed a comprehensive assessment of the state and future potential of cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
Before that, during the Economic Cooperation Organization summit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in discussions with Tajikistan's President, Emomali Rahmon, the President's press service reports. The leaders deliberated on matters concerning good neighborly relations, strategic partnership, and the continued fortification of alliance ties between their nations.
