Kyrgyzstan's President, Sadyr Japarov, embarked on a visit to Uzbekistan on November 8, with the primary purpose of participating in the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization. Accompanying him was his wife, Aigul Japarova. Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, President Japarov received a warm welcome from Abdulla Aripov, along with other dignitaries, before proceeding to his designated residence.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, and the head of Pakistan's interim government, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, also arrived in Tashkent to participate in the OIC summit presided over by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization will see the presence of eminent leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Ibrahim Raisi of Iran, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and the Secretary-General of OIC, Khusrav Noziri.
The summit's agenda encompasses discussions on the expansion of trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the enhancement of the multilateral structure's functions within the OIC framework.
Furthermore, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is slated to engage in bilateral discussions with various leaders, including the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, the head of Pakistan's interim government, and the General Secretary of the OIC.
Established in 1985, the Economic Cooperation Organization maintains its permanent secretariat in Tehran, with Uzbekistan having been a member of this organization since 1992.
