At the conclusion of their bilateral discussions, the President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, issued a joint statement to the media.
President Tokayev expressed his appreciation to Emmanuel Macron for accepting the invitation and making an official visit to Kazakhstan, highlighting France's significant and dependable partnership with Kazakhstan in Europe. He underlined the 15th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between both nations this year and the common goal of strengthening cooperation based on friendship and mutual support.
Kazakhstan's President mentioned that during substantial negotiations with President Emmanuel Macron, they reached specific agreements to enhance bilateral relations. He emphasized France's position as one of Kazakhstan's largest trading partners, highlighting the considerable growth in trade volume between the two countries in the first eight months of the year.
Furthermore, the President noted that special attention was dedicated to expanding cooperation in trade, economics, and investment, particularly in raw materials, agriculture, transportation, logistics, light industry, healthcare, innovation, and finance sectors. Both leaders discussed transitioning to a green economy and addressing climate change.
President Tokayev presented Kazakhstan's readiness to collaborate with the French One Planet Summit initiative, and they agreed to implement various projects in education and science. Both presidents shared their views on regional and global matters, emphasizing conflict resolution through peaceful, diplomatic means.
Emmanuel Macron expressed his gratitude for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan, acknowledging the need to expand cooperation further. He noted the alignment of interests between Kazakhstan and France, particularly in economic cooperation and the presence of French enterprises in various sectors.
Macron also highlighted Kazakhstan's role in ensuring global food security and how French companies can contribute to strengthening markets and partnerships in various areas, such as the energy sector and aerospace industry. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in healthcare, education, and contact between people.
The joint statement was followed by the signing of several agreements and documents by the official delegations, covering areas such as the establishment and operation of the French Development Agency Group, cooperation on the creation of international schools, and the teaching of the French language in Kazakhstan, cooperation on strategic minerals, vaccine production, wind power plant construction, and the production and maintenance of railway locomotives and rolling stock, among others.
