The UN General Assembly's resolution on the situation in the Middle East has sparked controversy, leading the Czech Republic's Defense Minister, Jana Černochová, to call for the country's withdrawal from the UN. Černochová expressed deep concern over the resolution, which called for immediate peace in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, on her account on platform X.
Citing the recent situation involving Hamas, Černochová argued that the UN's response did not align with the Czech Republic's stance. She emphasized the need to support Israel's right to self-defense and criticized the UN for what he perceived as support for "terrorists." The Defense Minister specifically pointed to the high number of Israeli casualties in the conflict and the limited number of countries, including the Czech Republic, that opposed the resolution.

In the UN General Assembly vote on the resolution, 120 countries voted in favor, 45 abstained, and 14 countries, including the Czech Republic, opposed it. Israel's permanent representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, expressed a similar sentiment, stating that the United Nations had lost legitimacy and relevance in his view.
