Turkmen gas supplies to Russia will amount to about 5bn cubic metres in 2023, in line with the contract signed in 2019. This deal expires on 30 June 2024, Turkmenportal reports.
Turkmengaz deputy chairman Murad Archayev told reporters on the sidelines of an energy conference in Ashgabat: "The contract is being fully implemented and the expected volume of Turkmen natural gas exports to the Russian Federation for this year is also planned at 5bn cubic metres".
Deliveries are made via the Central Asia-Centre gas pipeline through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Turkmenistan also exports its natural fuel to China, Azerbaijan (via Iran) and Uzbekistan.
