Ambassador of Turkmenistan Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov presented his credentials to Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, the diplomatic mission in Tbilisi (Georgia) reports.
Zurabishvili congratulated diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic work. The parties discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and cultural spheres.
Experts told Daryo that Georgia is completely dependent on imports of petroleum products and Turkmenistan has been one of its main suppliers in recent years. The two countries are discussing the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline project to Europe via the Caucasus and Turkey.
The Caucasian country is also interested in the implementation of the Caspian-Black Sea transit route project initiated by Turkmenistan and Romania. Experts are currently studying in detail the issues of freight transport prices, customs duties and trade privileges.
