President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay an official visit to the Republic of Turkey on 25-26 October, local media reports. At the last cabinet meeting, preparations for his talks in Ankara were discussed.
"The forthcoming visit will contribute to the further comprehensive development of Turkmen-Turkish relations on the basis of historical commonalities and brotherly ties between the two peoples," the head of state said.
Turkey is one of Turkmenistan's largest trading partners. Last year, the total trade turnover amounted to $2.06bn, an increase of 21.8% compared to the previous year.
Some 600 Turkish companies operating in the fields of trade, construction, energy, transport, communications and textiles are registered in the local market.
Experts told Daryo that the agenda of the bilateral talks includes issues of trade, transport, logistics and energy.
Turkmenistan and Turkey, with the participation of Azerbaijan, recently set up a joint working group to develop a plan to bring Turkmen gas to Europe, including through the Caspian Sea.
