Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, held discussions on October 13 with Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, Lebanon, regarding Israel's conflict with Hamas.
Additionally, Amirabdollahian engaged in talks with Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bouhabib. Local media source Al-Mayadeen reported that Amirabdollahian and Nasrallah addressed Hamas' recent attack on Israel. Iran supports Hamas, praising their actions, but denying direct involvement.
Hezbollah has been involved in cross-border exchanges of fire with Israel in recent days, resulting in Israeli strikes on Hezbollah observation posts and Lebanese villages. This situation marks the most significant escalation since the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel. Amirabdollahian accused Israel of committing "war crimes" in Gaza and mentioned Iran's efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. Iran requested Egypt, the United Nations, and aid organizations to facilitate this aid.
On October 12, Amirabdollahian warned that Israel's actions against Palestinians would prompt a response from Iran's allies, with Israel bearing the consequences. In response to the escalating situation, Israel called for over one million civilians in Gaza City to relocate south within 24 hours as they prepared for a potential ground invasion. Later on October 13, Amirabdollahian is scheduled to visit Syria, following Israeli airstrikes that temporarily halted operations at the Damascus and Aleppo airports.
