The Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan informs about the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with ThyssenKrupp POLYSIUS (Germany).
The equipment of this company is used in the construction of cement plants on the territory of Turkmenistan. "During the talks, the issues of uninterrupted operation of these plants, technical control of equipment and provision of spare parts were discussed".
Previously it was reported that the Turkmen company Enjam, which produces cement clinker in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, is actively cooperating with ThyssenKrupp.
Most of the cement plants in Turkmenistan are built by companies from Turkey. Polimeks, for example, has built plants with an annual capacity of 1.4mn tonnes of cement each in the Balkan and Lebap regions of the country.
Experts told Daryo that the country produces up to 3-4mn tonnes of this type of building material annually, according to various estimates: Portland cement, plug cement used in the oil and gas industry, and sulphate-resistant cement used in hydraulic structures.
Hundreds of projects worth more than $10bn are under construction in Turkmenistan, most of them of industrial significance.
