The Uzbekistan national rhythmic gymnastics team achieved a remarkable feat by winning a gold medal in the team program at the Asian Games, surpassing the groups from Kazakhstan and China. The Asian Games, taking place from September 23 to October 8 in China, witnessed the outstanding performance of the Uzbek gymnasts.
On October 6, the qualifying round for the individual program and the final game for the team program were held. Gymnasts Tahmina Ikromova, Vilana Savadyan, and Evelina Atalyants showcased their exceptional skills with the hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon, amassing 324.8 points. This outstanding score secured them the first-place position. The national team of Kazakhstan took second place with 317.1 points, while China secured the third spot with 313.4 points.
No team could repeat this result, and our compatriots won a gold medal in the team program - added to the NOC.
The Uzbekistan team's achievement was unparalleled, as no other team replicated their remarkable performance. The National Olympic Committee proudly announced that our gymnasts had secured a well-deserved gold medal in the team program.
Moreover, Takhmina Ikramova and Evelina Atalyants have also qualified for the individual program, maintaining the opportunity to compete for awards in the all-around category. The Uzbek gymnasts have demonstrated their exceptional talent, dedication, and precision, setting the stage for further success in the individual events.
Uzbekistan's athletes have achieved remarkable success at the Asian Games 2023, amassing an impressive total of 64 medals. Among these medals, 20 are gold, showcasing the nation's exceptional talent and dedication. As a result, Uzbekistan currently holds the 5th position in the overall medal standings. China, with an astounding total of 354 medals, dominates the leaderboard and currently reigns in first place. Out of China's impressive medal count, an impressive 183 are gold, cementing their position as the leading nation in terms of both total medals and gold medals.
