Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is facing serious health issues, as his kidney transplant was unsuccessful, according to Russian opposition figure and former State Duma deputy Gennady Gudkov.
Sources indicate that Kadyrov's health problems were so severe that he required a kidney transplant. However, the operation was unsuccessful, and the kidney started to "reject."
"I called some well-known Chechens and asked if his health was really poor. According to their information, he has kidney problems. There was even an operation, a transplant, but it failed, as if some kind of infection had started. His health is very poor," said Gudkov.
Rumors of a sudden deterioration in Kadyrov's health emerged in the spring of 2023, coinciding with changes in his public image. He notably gained a significant amount of weight, experienced facial swelling, and appeared unhealthy. Subsequently, reports emerged suggesting kidney issues, with some speculating they resulted from poisoning.
Sources claim that Kadyrov has been spending more time abroad recently, distancing himself from governing the republic. However, Ramzan Kadyrov has denied rumors of poor health, emphasizing that he remains active in sports, mountain climbing, and discussions on Chechnya's development.
He also clarified that he carries electronic prayer beads, not medical instruments, with him.
