Uzbekistan witnesses robust growth in gasoline production in 2023

Uzbekistan witnesses robust growth in gasoline production in 2023

Preliminary data released by the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan reveals a significant surge in gasoline production during the period of January to July 2023. The nation's production of gasoline amounted to an impressive 781,400 tons, underscoring the country's expanding industrial capabilities and energy sector advancement.

One of the standout highlights of this report is the noteworthy increase in the production volume of automobile gasoline, which registered a remarkable growth rate of 18.3% in comparison to the corresponding period of the preceding year, 2022. This surge exemplifies Uzbekistan's commitment to enhancing its automotive fuel production and contributing to the energy self-sufficiency of the nation.

In addition to gasoline, the statistics provide insights into the production landscape of various other industrial products. The production of coal reached a substantial volume of 3.1 mn tons, reinforcing the country's coal mining sector. Meanwhile, the production of oil amounted to 456 thousand tons, and gas condensate production stood at an impressive 707.5 thousand tons, reflecting the diversity and growth of Uzbekistan's energy resources.

The industrial capacity extends beyond the energy sector, as demonstrated by the production figures of various types of vehicles and automotive components. The production of buses reached 454 units, while trucks manufactured amounted to 1372 units. The nation's automotive industry showcased its prowess by producing a substantial number of car engines, reaching a commendable figure of 122,710 units. Additionally, the production of passenger cars, excluding special passenger vehicles, accounted for 194,053 units, underlining the vibrancy of the automobile market.

These figures collectively signify the nation's dedication to bolstering its industrial sectors and fortifying economic growth. The remarkable increase in gasoline production, particularly automobile gasoline, aligns with the country's drive for self-reliance and resource optimization. The robust production of coal, oil, and gas condensate reinforces the multifaceted approach Uzbekistan is taking to meet its energy demands and contribute to its economic development.

The expansion in vehicle production further indicates the diversification of the country's manufacturing landscape. With significant numbers of buses, trucks, car engines, and passenger cars being produced, Uzbekistan's automotive sector is poised to contribute significantly to domestic transportation needs and potentially expand its presence in international markets.
