The 7th Forum of Analytical Centers of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) took place in China on August 16-17, 2023.

This encompasses setting clear objectives, formulating regulations and incentives for investment in digital technologies, clean energy, and intelligent solutions across diverse sectors.
Mr. Asif Javed from the Sustainable Development Policy Institute of Pakistan underscored that regional agreements can unite Pakistan and Central Asia's economies. He proposed a plan to facilitate successful digital trade.
Mr. Farrukh Hakimov from Uzbekistan emphasized that digital technologies in trade can dissolve barriers and promote economic integration in the Central Asian region.
The forum delved into strategies to equip individuals with skills for the digital age. Dr. Xiaojun Feng from China elucidated how technological progress generates new job opportunities but demands new skill sets. Uneven technological adoption globally leads to a disparity in job distribution among countries.
Ms. Ana Pashalishvili from the UN highlighted the obstacles women face in the digital technology realm. Support programs and training can empower women to participate in the digital economy.
Mr. Sayed Hassan Alsagoff from the Islamic Development Bank shared insights on employing digital technologies in education. He introduced the concept of a "Flipped Classroom," where students learn material at home and apply it during in-class sessions.
The forum also showcased the experiences of government representatives and businesses in digital transformation. Dr. Sherry Tao Kong from China suggested leveraging China's experience to develop e-commerce and digital finance in Central Asia.
Mr. Raymond Moes from Alibaba shared the company's success story in global e-commerce. They aid countries in collaborating with the private sector through digital technologies to make global trade more accessible.
Mr. Syed Shakil Shah from Pakistan revealed how they streamlined business through a digital platform. This platform acts as a window, enabling quick and hassle-free business and trade while avoiding bureaucratic hurdles.
Ms. Enkhtulga Ganbat from Mongolia discussed how technology enhanced public services. It's like a convenient digital store where people can access essential services.
Mr. Khalid Umar from CAREC explained how digital financial technologies can assist even those who previously faced financial challenges.

CAREC is an organization that facilitates collaboration and knowledge-sharing among countries for economic development. It includes 11 member countries, including China, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and others.
The CAREC Institute is based in Urumqi, China, and is committed to supporting collaboration among Central Asian countries along the Silk Road route. It was established by 11 member countries to foster knowledge exchange and enhance economic cooperation in the region.
