Japanese entrepreneurs met with Khayrullo Bozorov, the mayor of Fergana, to discuss the construction of the Japan Medical and Healthcare Town in the Eco-City.
Koji Nagai, the director of NAGAI Clinic, participated in the discussion about the practical stages of the project.
The medical town will have 20 health facilities, 11 clinics, two pharmacies, a sports and recreation complex, and a medical education and nutrition training center. The project, which is expected to be fully funded by Japanese investors, has a preliminary cost of $8.72mn.
The Fergana region administration and NAGAI Clinic have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to bring the popular DAISO brand supermarket to the area, known for its health and beauty products.
The negotiations have reached a crucial stage and the project is set to move forward. To mark the occasion, the head of NAGAI Clinic, Koji Nagai, was presented with a certificate of state registration of the company in the Fergana region as a foreign company.
The Japan Medical and Healthcare Town will be integrated with the $15mn Japanese Garden Shogun City, a hotel, and a restaurant complex, all built on three hectares of the Eco-City.
Construction of the Fergana Shogun complex is scheduled to commence in October, with the director of Micado Development sharing that the project has expanded to include 100 rooms and an increased capacity for trade and food outlets.
The parties also discussed the upcoming Fergana – Japan Business Forum, scheduled for November, and exchanged views on its organizational issues.
