The Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrovannounced an almost 5% growth in economic indicators for the first half of the year, media reports.
He highlighted the positive dynamics in construction, trade, information, and communications, with significant investment inflows in transport and warehousing, education, trade, and agriculture. The Abai, Mangystau, West Kazakhstan, and Pavlodar regions achieved the best indicators.
The Minister also provided updates on the pace of housing construction.
Alibek Kuantyrov also announced that over 8.5mn square meters of housing have been commissioned in the first seven months of this year, a remarkable 12% increase from last year's figures. He stressed that the regions of Ulytau and Abai, along with the cities of Almaty and Astana, as leaders in the nation's impressive effort to provide more homes for its citizens.
Kazakhstan's inflation rate dropped to 14% annually in July, with a significant slowdown in food inflation to 13.5%.
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov reports a steady decrease in inflation indicators since February. The goal is to cut inflation in half by year-end compared to last year, with food products being the primary contributor. To achieve this, the government has implemented a set of measures to control and reduce inflation, which regional leaders and ministries must efficiently implement.
To ensure success, regional commissions must identify intermediary schemes in the product pricing chain, with constant oversight from the akimats.
