Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta on his social media site "Threads" offered Elon Musk a "real date" to step into the ring for a cage match, but Musk seems to have come up with excuses instead.
According to BBC News, Musk hinted he was ready for the fight, but on August 13, he seemed to backpedal, stating he needed surgery and suggesting a practice round at his backyard.
Zuckerberg, however, remained patient, signaling that if Musk truly intended to engage in an official event, he could easily reach out. Otherwise, it's time to move on and focus on more serious sports rivals.
This exchange has evolved after Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a cage fight back in June. Although both billionaires have been playfully taunting each other, arranging an actual fight seems doubtful given their busy schedules and the oddity of the situation.
Earlier Dayo reported that Musk added to the intrigue by tweeting that the fight would be live-streamed on his and Zuckerberg's social media platforms, emphasizing that the surroundings would evoke ancient Rome.
Elon Musk, the 52-year-old magnate of the tech industry, and Mark Zuckerberg, aged 39 and at the helm of Meta, stand as two of the globe's renowned tech billionaires.
The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC).

Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all.
I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.
The unconventional idea of a showdown emerged in June when Musk tweeted he was "ready to rumble in the cage" with Zuckerberg.
The Meta boss, who already trains in mixed martial arts (MMA) and has won jiu-jitsu tournaments, responded with a simple "send me the location."
