On July 9, for the first time in history, gymnasts from Uzbekistan secured medals at the World Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships, as announced by the Gymnastics Federation's press service.
In Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where the junior world championship is currently taking place, Uzbek gymnast Anastasia Sarantseva won a bronze medal in the hoop exercise, scoring 30.850 points.
Anastasia, who has previously won multiple international competitions and became a bronze medalist at the 2021 CIS Games and the 2022 Asian Championships, demonstrated her skills once again. This year, she claimed two gold medals in the junior continental championship held in the Philippines, winning in both the team event and the hoop exercise.
Adding to the success of the Uzbek team, Michelle Nesterova also secured a bronze medal in the ribbon exercise on the same day.
Anastasia already has two gold medals to her name from the Asian Championships held in the Philippines. Her achievements continue to grow, and her latest triumph further solidifies her position among talented young gymnasts.
A total of 379 individual gymnasts and 37 teams from 59 countries worldwide are participating in the competition.
