Serious destruction and dozens injured as tornadoes hit the USA, Euronews reports.
Multiple tornadoes swept through Mississippi on June 19, leaving a trail of destruction and causing injuries to dozens of people and one death.
The small rural town of Luin bore the brunt of the destructive force, with aerial footage and photographs revealing a landscape of debris, shattered homes, and uprooted trees. Another hard-hit area was the city of Moss Point, where seven individuals found themselves trapped inside a bank building. Thankfully, rescuers arrived promptly to free them from the treacherous situation.
Emergency crews are working tirelessly to assess the extent of the damage caused by the tornadoes. Drones have been deployed in some areas to aid in surveying the destruction, particularly in locations where fallen power lines pose a significant risk.
Local authorities have reported widespread damage to roads and other essential infrastructure, compounding the difficulties faced by affected communities. As a result of the strong wind gusts that accompanied the tornadoes, over 49,000 homes in the central part of Mississippi are now without electricity.
On June 17, a powerful tornado tore through the northern part of Texas, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving dozens of individuals injured. The storm left More than 200,000 homes and businesses across Texas were left without power.
