The media reported that a virus was found in Uzbek cherries exported to Russia. It says that about 20 tons of Uzbek cherries with oriental moths were brought to the Omsk region of Russia. Information about the detection of infection was given to the client and sent to "Rosselkhoznadzor".
Daryo.uz reporter contacted Sabina Sadinova, press secretary of the Director of Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency, in order to get a comment on this situation.
The head of the agency said that there was no objection from "Rosselkhoznadzor" to Uzbekistan regarding this issue.
"The process of exchanging information on the situation with Rosselkhoznadzor is underway. We can provide accurate information after they send us their studies," said Sabina Sadinova.
He added that it is not a virus detected in cherries, but an insect, as reported in the networks.
