The United States Embassy in Tashkent has announced the opening of a new American Corner in Namangan. This collaboration with the American Councils for International Education aims to provide the community comprehensive information on the United States and educational opportunities.
The US Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Jonathan Henick, noted that the American Corner Namangan will now be part of the more than 600 American Spaces in 139 countries worldwide, where visitors can connect and learn about the United States. The top diplomat highlighted that the event is an essential milestone in strengthening the relationship between the two governments and between the American people and the people of Uzbekistan.
Reportedly, the facility is located on the first floor of the Istiqbol Zamon Bolalari School and is the Embassy's second American Corner outside Tashkent. It offers modern resource libraries, conference spaces, books, educational and cultural resources in English, and computer labs with internet access, all free of charge.
Moreover, the EducationUSA advising center provides free consultation services to students interested in pursuing their studies in the United States.
The American Corner will also feature a guest speaker series and extracurricular activities such as English language movies and speaking clubs.
