The Baika Textile facility in Kyrgyzstan's Osh area held its formal opening ceremony, which was observed by US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Leslie Vigeri, 24.kg reports.
The business is said to include $100,000 in equipment, including sewing and cutting machines, as well as advanced machinery for producing T-shirts and other goods. It spent more than $330,000 on the construction of a new facility and the acquisition of new equipment.
The plant began in Bishkek and was subsequently relocated to Osh Region to provide more employment in southern Kyrgyzstan. The development of the facility increased the number of employees from 80 to 400.
The US provided financial assistance to over 120 companies, notably Baika Textile, which has produced thousands of new employment in Kyrgyzstan, especially among women. The equipment was donated to the manufacturing facility by the US through the USAID project "Competitive Enterprise," which assists small and medium-sized businesses in sectors such as textile, food production, agriculture, IT, and finance in expanding their production and sales.
The project's major purpose is to increase work prospects in Kyrgyzstan, and it possesses a total capital of $23mn for five years from its inception in 2018.
