By the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov was approved as the country's Foreign Minister. The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis deputies endorsed Bakhtiyor Saidov's candidacy earlier.
Samarkand-born Bakhtiyor Saidov, 42, graduated from the Tashkent State Economic University (bachelor's and master's degrees) and the Institute of the World Trade Organization (Switzerland).
From 2009 to 2013, he worked as an economic and commercial consultant at the Uzbek Embassy in the Republic of Korea. Saidov holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
From 2017 to 2021, Bakhtiyor Saidov served as Uzbek ambassador to China and simultaneously as Ambassador to Mongolia and the Philippines.
Besides, the incumbent Foreign Minister worked in various senior positions in Uzbekistan, including in the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment, and Trade, as well as in 'Uzbekengilsanoat.' In addition, he served as Minister of Public Education.
Bakhtiyor Saidov was appointed acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on December 30, 2022.
