The number of Armed Forces subordinate to the "Taliban" movement of the government of Afghanistan will be increased to 200,000 people, TOLOnews TV channel reports referring to the head of the general staff of the "Taliban" army Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat.
"Next year, we decided to increase the number of servicemen in the army from 150,000 to 170,000 first and then gradually increase it to 200,000," - he said.
When the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in mid-August 2021, the number of fighters under their control was estimated at 100,000. In February 2022, Taliban representatives announced that they intend to increase the number of their Armed Forces to 150,000 people.
So far, the Taliban has even managed to create its own air force. These forces have dozens of aircraft at their disposal, which have already been used in combat operations.
