Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to ramp up the volume of mutual trade to $2 bln, "Dunyo" reports.
In connection with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Khurshid Mirzohidov gave an interview to the "Vector" program of the "First Radio" radio channel of the Kyrgyz National Television and Radio Company. In it, the ambassador listed the priority areas of cooperation:
- Cooperation between leading enterprises and businesses;
- Effective use of transit potential and its increase;
- Cooperation in the use of water and energy sector;
- Interregional cooperation;
- Activation of cultural and humanitarian exchanges in order to bring the peoples of the two countries closer to each other.
According to Mirzohidov, economic cooperation is an important link in Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan relations along with the political, cultural, and humanitarian direction between the two countries. The trade and economic relations between the countries are developing consistently, and the level of trade has a tendency to increase.
