The Syrdarya department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated a criminal case (spreading venereal or HIV disease/AIDS), against an HIV-diagnosed woman who knowingly infected four men in Bukhara region.
On February 13, 2020, the Syrdarya Region AIDS Center registered the woman as an HIV infection carrier and duly warned her about the legal liabilities if she continued having intercourse.
Nevertheless, a 24-old woman deliberately committed a crime, seducing 4 males in the desert zone located in Bukhara district between August 2022 and December 2022.
As of January 1, 2022, there were 45,000 HIV-diagnosed patients in Uzbekistan who had undergone specific antiretroviral therapy.
