In 2023, Uzbekistan climbed eight positions in the Index of Economic Freedom, gaining 56.5 points.
Central Asia’s most populous country ranked 109 out of 176 in the Index of Economic Freedom, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reports.
Experts recorded positive changes in 7 out of 12 indicators: state integrity (+1.1 points), tax burden (+2 points), labour market freedom (+0.1 points), monetary freedom (+2.3 points), trade freedom (+0.4 points), investment freedom (+10 points) and financial freedom (+10 points).
And yet, there are few negative figures in property rights (-0.7 points), judicial efficiency (-0.1 points), public spending (-3.2 points), fiscal health (-11.3 points) and freedom business (-0.2 points).
