The number of tourists arriving in Uzbekistan from Russia in 2022 surged three-fold, compared to 2021, to 567.7 thousand people, Uzbekistan's State Statistics Committee has reported.
Earlier the department noted that according to the results of 2021, 190,500 Russians came to Uzbekistan. According to the Uzbek side, the results of 2022 exceeded the indicators of pre-disaster 2019, when Uzbekistan was visited by almost 450 thousand tourists from Russia.
Russians consistently occupy the fourth place in the tourist inflow to the republic, followed by tourists from neighboring Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
In January-December of 2022, the total number of foreigners who visited the Central Asian country increased by 2.8 times - to 5.2mn people. In March 2022, the governments of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation signed a plan of 20 measures to create conditions for the growth of tourist joint tourist inflow.
