A few days ago, in an interview with the local media, the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jorabek Mirzamahmudov said that the cooperation with Russia on natural gas had no political grounds, but only on a commercial agreement.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, also confirmed the Uzbek side’s words.
“We have only business negotiations that only serve the interests of the participating countries. And we are all working in this direction, Peskov said.
The press secretary of the Russian President also mentioned the tripartite gas cooperation between Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
"Nobody talked about setting political conditions in exchange for gas, it's completely out of the question," the press secretary said.
