Colonel at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Khamza Makhsumov on Thursday (December 1) disclosed some details of the murder that occurred at midnight on Wednesday (November 30) this week when Prevention Inspector, Senior Lieutenant N. Bobomurodov died while performing his lawful duties.
Lieutenant Bobomurodov passed away the same day as a result of bodily injuries. Law enforcement bodies suspected a 30-year-old man of committing the crime. According to Khamza Makhsumov, the Prevention Inspector was called in because of a family dispute. When he arrived at the scene, the woman’s partner stabbed him twice. Later it became known that the law enforcers arrested the alleged murderer of the internal affairs officer.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs representatives also reported that 25 employees of the internal affairs agencies had died in Uzbekistan during ten months of this year. Of these, 9 deceased in an accident and 16 in the line of duty. In addition, 284 internal affairs officers sustained multiple injuries of various degrees.
