Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment has held talks with Deputy Minister Badriddin Obidov and chairman of the working group on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO, Korean Ambassador to Geneva Lee Taeho and Maika Oshikawa, Director of the Accession Department of the WTO Secretariat.

The online meeting discussed work implemented to set the forthcoming gathering of the working group with the focus that Uzbekistan has submitted all necessary documents to the WTO secretariat and member countries for the sixth working group meeting.

Despite many events, the parties expressed their readiness to provide full assistance in organizing and holding the 6th working group meeting on WTO membership and provide advice and technical support for the country's further accession process.

The process of the republic's accession to the WTO resumed after an almost 15-year break in 2020. At the end of June 2022, the working group held the fifth meeting, where negotiations began between the Uzbek side and the WTO member countries on the conditions for joining the organization.
