The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the Minister of Economic Development of Hungary Marton Nadzi via video conference on October 17.
During the conversation, it was noted that there is a positive dynamic in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, which was significantly boosted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Hungary in early October this year.
The parties discussed the practical aspects of the implementation of the current agreements. They paid particular attention to the analysis and development of measures for the rapid execution of 42 documents between Uzbekistan and Hungary, with a total value of $1.2bn. In particular, prospects for cooperation in implementing joint investment projects in agriculture, the automobile industry, pharmaceuticals, banking, finance, transport, and logistics were considered in the digitalization of water management processes.
Aspects of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics were separately considered. The parties welcomed the successful launch of direct flights between Samarkand and Abu Dhabi with Wiz Air. They discussed the creation of a joint airline company with the participation of Uzbek investors. It was agreed to speed up the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Transport signing.
An agreement was reached on the development of a comprehensive action plan in the field of digitization of water management processes and the establishment of cooperation between relevant scientific institutions.
According to the results of the negotiations, the parties expressed their commitment to continue joint work and to take concrete, practical measures on implementing "Roadmaps" and programs to implement the discussed areas of cooperation.
