First of all, I sincerely congratulate you, the famous actors and directors, cinematographers and artists, producers and film scholars, famous cultural and artistic figures who have visited from different countries of the world, on the opening of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival.
More than 300 film masters from 35 countries of the world are taking part in this event that promotes noble ideas of "For peace, enlightenment and development". The Tashkent International Film Festival with more than half a century shows that it is gaining its reputation in the world of art.
In recent years special attention has been paid to the development of film art in our country based on the requirements of the times. Contacts have been established with prestigious film companies, and agreements have been reached with more than 30 countries on the creation of feature films. Cinema towns are being built to implement national and foreign projects. Favourable conditions are being created for foreign companies wishing to shoot films in Uzbekistan.
I hope that you will find out more about our reforms during the festival and make your useful suggestions for improving our work. I believe that the film festival will leave a worthy mark on the activities of all participants, in the development of the culture and art of Uzbekistan, with sincere meetings and dialogues, heated debates, and the presentation of many new works of art.
I would like to congratulate you once again on the opening of the 14th Tashkent International Film Festival and wish that this huge art festival will be full of unforgettable moments and discover new names and talents in the world of cinema.
