Uzbekistan commissioned a total of 15.9mn square meters of residential housing in 2025, marking a 2.8% year-on-year increase, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee.
Housing construction activity was recorded across all regions. Tashkent region led with nearly 2.0mn square meters of newly commissioned housing, followed by Khorezm with about 1.77mn square meters and Fergana with 1.63mn square meters. High completion levels were also reported in Namangan and Bukhara, each exceeding 1.5mn square meters, while Surkhandarya and Andijan posted figures above 1.3mn square meters.
Mid-range volumes were recorded in Karakalpakstan, Kashkadarya, Navoi, and Tashkent city, each contributing between 700,000 square meters and 1.0mn square meters. Lower levels were observed in Jizzakh and Samarkand, while Syrdarya registered the smallest volume, with just over 136,000 square meters of housing commissioned.
Earlier reports showed that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his address to the Oliy Majlis, stated that 8.1mn square meters of multi-storey housing was handed over to residents in 2025, while families built homes on 19mn square meters of land. Over the past nine years, a total of 210mn square meters of residential and non-residential buildings have been completed nationwide
The government has also announced plans to pilot a cluster-based management system for multi-apartment housing in selected cities and districts from 2026 to 2030, aimed at improving service quality and attracting additional investment into the housing sector.
