Germany to simplify work visa issuance for Uzbek migrants

Germany to simplify work visa issuance for Uzbek migrants

Germany is set to introduce reforms aimed at improving the employment prospects and vocational training opportunities for citizens of Uzbekistan. The measures include streamlined work visa processes and the establishment of new training programs.

On September 15, Minister of Employment Behzod Musayev met with German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser in Samarkand to discuss labour migration issues. The discussions were focused on easing the work visa application process for Uzbek nationals.

Minister Faeser stated, “We are prepared to implement simplified procedures that will facilitate the hiring of Uzbek workers by German employers.”

A new initiative will see the creation of a nursing academy at the Republican Medical College named after Ibn Sina in Tashkent. This academy will be established in partnership with Aachen University Clinic and Globogate Concept.

The new training program is designed to expedite the preparation of auxiliary medical personnel for roles in German healthcare facilities. Previously, such workers needed an additional 6-8 months for qualification upgrades and language training before their departure.

Globogate CEO San Wu Pai explained, “The training program will provide participants with professional and language skills over a year. Upon completion, they will receive a professional certificate that enables them to work in Germany.”

The Ministry of Employment has announced plans to deploy 800 nurses to Germany by the end of the year. Currently, 400 nurses have already been sent, with the remaining in the process of completing their training.

In a related development, the Ministry has signed an agreement with DB Engineering & Consulting, a Deutsche Bahn subsidiary. This agreement will facilitate the training of specialists for Germany’s railway, metro, and bus systems.

Nico Warbanoff, head of DB Engineering & Consulting, noted the significant demand for qualified workers and affirmed that Uzbek specialists will be employed upon successful completion of the necessary examinations.
