President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on citizen appeals related to Uzbekistan's fuel and energy sector and preparations for the 2026–2027 autumn-winter season, with officials instructed to address recurring infrastructure issues and strengthen the reliability of electricity and gas supplies.
According to the presidential press service, the briefing focused on analyzing public complaints, identifying systemic problems, and implementing targeted measures to improve the supply of electricity and natural gas ahead of the autumn-winter season.
Officials reported that 39,220 appeals concerning the fuel and energy sector were received during the first half of 2026, representing a decrease of 13,820 complaints, or 26.1%, compared with the same period last year.
Approximately half of the appeals related to the supply of natural gas and liquefied gas, while 38.3% concerned electricity supply.
The most frequently reported issues included delays in filling liquefied gas cylinders, electricity outages, the construction and repair of electricity networks, and insufficient natural gas pressure.
Despite the overall decline in complaints, the president noted that each appeal should be treated as an indicator of broader issues affecting specific regions, sectors, or public services rather than as an isolated case.
As part of preparations for the autumn-winter season, responsible agencies were instructed to assess mahallas and facilities with high numbers of recurring complaints, inspect the technical condition of electricity and gas infrastructure, and develop targeted action plans to eliminate identified deficiencies in each region.
Priority measures include repairing electricity distribution networks and transformer substations, particularly in areas experiencing frequent power outages, strengthening the readiness of emergency response teams, and improving the stability of natural gas supplies in settlements affected by low gas pressure.
Officials were also instructed to ensure strict compliance with schedules for filling and delivering liquefied gas cylinders and to mobilize additional reserves and technical capacity in areas where demand is expected to increase during the colder months.
According to the presidential press service, President Mirziyoyev emphasized that systemic issues reflected in citizen appeals should be resolved before the start of the autumn-winter season through coordinated work involving local authorities, members of the "mahalla seven," and utility service organizations.
The briefing concluded with instructions to responsible officials to complete seasonal preparations on schedule and ensure the uninterrupted supply of natural gas, liquefied gas, electricity, and other fuel resources to households and social facilities.
