Uzbekistan aims to increase its export volume to $45bn by 2030, focusing on entering new, high-margin markets beyond traditional partners.
A recent analysis identified strong growth potential in building materials, light industry, electrical engineering, food, household chemicals, mechanical engineering, and metals.
On December 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on measures to boost exports and simplify entrepreneurs’ access to public services. Officials highlighted the need to establish preferential trade agreements, strengthen economic ties with promising partner countries, and expand border infrastructure to handle growing trade volumes.
They also reported on the positioning of domestic products in foreign markets, joint projects with international partners, and ongoing efforts to diversify exports. The president instructed authorities to fully utilize existing potential, open new markets, and streamline foreign trade procedures.
The presentation also addressed challenges in providing services to entrepreneurs. Currently, 81 state entities offer 739 services, but 576 are fragmented across agencies. For instance, producing meat products requires 17 steps across 10 different agencies. Additionally, no single platform exists for consulting on accounting, taxation, export, or certification services.
To tackle these issues, officials proposed establishing “Business Hamroh” centers under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These centers will consolidate state and private services in one place using a unified electronic platform and a 24/7 call center to assist entrepreneurs.
President Mirziyoyev approved the plan, emphasizing that the centers should provide comprehensive business support, from setting up a company to selling products and exporting goods. Relevant instructions were issued for the initiative’s implementation.
